Tips for Preparing for the Big Day
- Get plenty of rest where you can as you have a long (but great) day ahead of you! Rely on your maid of honour, bridesmaids and family for help - that's what they are there for!
- Drink plenty of fluids to keep your skin looking fresh.
- Maintain a daily routine of face cleansing and moisturizing 2 times a day. Go to a make-up counter well ahead of the big day for tips on how to take care of your skin. You don't want to leave this to the last minute, as any skin cream unfortunately can't work miracles overnight!
- Try to find a hair and make-up artist well in advance of your wedding day, as the better ones will likely be booked closer to 3 months prior to the big day. Scan through magazines for looks that you would prefer and be prepared to bring these with you to show your stylist or artist. Go for a trial to do a test run of how the hair and make-up will look - you also don't want to leave this to the last minute!
- When looking for a hair stylist or make-up artist, ask to see examples of work so you can decide if you would want a trial with them in the first place. Speak to married friends for any referrals and their experiences with hair stylists and artists.
- Ensure you get all waxing, threading and facials done at least 3 days before the big day to ensure any redness and breakouts have the chance to calm down.
- Rest easy and place your trust in the professionals you've hired to take care of details such as your hair and make-up. We're all there to help make you look and feel your very best on your big day!
