Over the weekend, I had the chance to also work with Claudia on a photoshoot for the lovely ladies of a string quartet. Check out some of the pics from the shoot below. Claud did an amazing job as always...and all from her very own living room! Good times :)

Rina + Joe engaged are now actually Rina + Joe married!! Oops I'm a little behind in adding these pics to the artistrhi site, but I wish them the best all the same!! I'm looking forward to e-shoots with Claud getting underway with our first one right around the corner in February... stay tuned for those cool (well, literally cold!) shots :)

The main pic of Claud's above is one of our e-shoots from summer 2009 with Flora + Daniel, where I did the make-up for the engagement shoot from the trunk of a car! True story :)

The latest e-session with photography-meister Claudia Hung is now up at artistrhi.com! This e-session was unique for a couple of reasons:

1. The awesome couple, Flora and Daniel, had booked Claudia all the way from Hong Kong (Miss Hung is worldwide, baby!) and
2. We improvised and did the make-up outdoors, in a parking lot using Claudia's hatchback trunk!

The latest from the claudiahungweddings.com x artistrhi.com e-session collaboration! I know the second pic doesn't depict the make-up at all, but I just love the image so much that I had to add it to the post! Would it be in bad taste to request a similar photo for my engagement photos...like 15 years into the future? :)

Kristine + Gino were a fun pair, and you can definitely tell it from the photos - looking at the final product had me smiling with them! Thanks everyone for an awesome day!

To get the gorgeous bride-to-be Christine's subtle smoky eye, try these easy steps:
1. Apply your medium shade as the base atop the eyelid. Keep this colour just below the hollow of the eye.

2. Deposit the darkest colour eyeshadow in the outer corner of the eyelid and blend well towards the inner corner and towards the hollow of the eye. Avoid blending the colour too far up above the hollow of the eye, as this can make the eyes look smaller.

3. Finish with eyeliner by drawing the line thinner on the inner corner that gradually gets thicker as it approaches the outer corner of the eye.

ARTIST TIP:
When using pencil eyeliner, sharpen it first but dull the sharpened edge slightly before applying it directly to the eye. Using the pencil, start with the inner corner first, as the sharpened edge will allow more precision.

When using liquid liner, usually too much product comes out on the applicator brush. Versus the pencil method, start applying liquid liner at the outer corner of the lid to deposit some of that excess product...or if you prefer to start from the inner corner, swipe the liquid liner brush a couple of times against a tissue to rid it of any excess. Remember the less product on the brush, the more control you have. Once the make-up is applied, it's much easier and less messy to add layers rather than remove them! A little goes a long way...

The subtle smoky eye pictured on Christine can work well for a daytime wedding - just be sure to blend well and avoid using black eyeshadow.

Lastly, to add some drama for the evening reception, line the bottom lashline with your eyeliner. Va-va-vooom!

Check out the stunning results of the first e-session with Claudia Hung! The supersexy couple here was Trevor and Julie, and man did they worrrk it! I lost track of the amount of double-takes they were getting, as they just casually walked down Front Street and around Union Station.

I did a mini make-up session with Julie using a make-up room at the CTV/MuchMusic building. I loved how she wanted to do a glam red lip look, but then again, the lady could really pull off anything :)

Make sure to read Claud's post about the day too. I'm glad Trev told that haunted story after we were almost done - that explains why the cleaning staff were there so early!

We had our first e-session this past Wednesday with the stunning couple, Julie and Trevor. Below is a behind the scenes shot that I snuck - the lengths that awesome photographers go to to get their shots! Here's Claud doing her thing along Front Street, in front of the Royal York. A few years back, when trying to master my own camera (that I use for my Beauty Shots), I quickly learned that stand-out photography is more than just good lighting and a pretty face. A breath-taking image (you know those ones that really capture your attention) has the power to freeze a moment in time and capture a sense of emotion.; it has the ability to invoke that emotion within the viewer, and inspire.

One photographer who I have been fortunate to work with who does just that (well, and then some!) is the insanely talented Claudia Hung, Toronto-based Editorial and Wedding Photographer.

Gorgeous images are one thing, but what makes it even better that is Claudia is a real down-to-earth gem to work with! I've experienced first-hand how she interacts with everyone to make sure they're comfortable, and it conveys in the final images. People aren't posed - they're in the moment and that's what makes her stuff so compelling.

If you’re in the market for a photographer for your special event, you need only look at her portfolio - the images speak for themselves.

Be warned - she books up fast!
